ABM <> POS: Tax Types

What Are Tax Types With ABM + POS Sync?

Creating Tax Types allows you to apply different tax rates to your various Item Types. With the ABM + POS Sync, you’ll create and manage your Tax Types from your ABM. Then they can be viewed, but not edited from your Arryved Portal. Use this guide to learn how to create Tax Types. 

Prerequisites

  • You are an Arryved Brewery Management (ABM) user, and your Arryved POS is synced with your ABM. 
  • To add and edit Tax Types in your ABM, you must be a User with the Admin User Role.
  • To view Item Types in your Arryved Portal, you must be a Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions:
    • INVENTORY
    • EDIT SALES TAX
    • ALL ACCESS

Limitations

  • With the ABM + POS Sync, you cannot add or edit Tax Types from your Arryved Portal; they must be added from your ABM, which will sync to your Arryved Portal. 

How It Works

Adding New Tax Types

  1. Log in to your ABM.
  2. Click on Settings (the gear icon in the upper-right corner).
  3. Click Tax Types from the top navigation options. 
  4. Click New Tax Type. 

  1. Give the Tax Type a Name.
  2. Under Behavior, select whether this Tax Type will be added to the retail price of an Item or be inclusive of the price. 
  3. Under Jurisdiction, select the U.S. State in which this Tax Type will be operating. 
  4. Under Tax Type, select the percentage option (Fixed dollar amount tax rates are not supported with the ABM + POS Sync). 
  5. Enter the desired percentage. 
  6. Write a Description to help you and other staff better understand the details of this Tax Type and what it may apply to. 
  7. Click Save.

Making Tax Types Active/Inactive

On your Tax Type list in ABM, use the toggle under the ‘Active’ column to make the Tax Type Active or Inactive. However, if the Tax Type is currently applied to any active Item Types in your ABM, then it cannot be made inactive. It must be removed from all associated, active Item Types first. 

Tax Types In Your Arryved Portal

Tax Types in your ABM will automatically sync with your Arryved Portal. You cannot add or edit Tax Types in your Portal, but you can view them. 

  1. Log into your Arryved Portal.
  2. From the left side navigation, click Inventory.
  3. Click Inventory Settings.
  4. Click Tax Types.
