The BBPOS Chipper is a bluetooth credit card reader that supports EMV. This article will show you how to set up your Chipper hardware with your POS device and Arryved Service app.
You must have the physical hardware to set up. If you are interested in purchasing this reader, contact Arryved Support.
Tap to pay through a phone or card does not allow for card on file.
Swiping is only supported when dip payment fails 3 times.
Does not support gift card swiping. Gift Cards can be manually entered.
Not supported in Offline Mode.
Having a backup MagTek swipe reader is strongly recommended.
Battery saving feature: Auto-shutoff after 30 minutes of non-use.
You will need to know the last 4 digits of the serial number so you can identify the hardware in your device settings and in Arryved Service.
Look on the back of the physical BBPOS Chipper.
In small print on the bottom, find the digits next to "Serial:".
Record the last 4 digits.
In this step, you will pair the Chipper with your Arryved Service tablet or phone.
Tap on the Settings Icon on your POS Device.
The settings icon is often on the main page of your device and is shaped like a gear.
Tap Connections on the left side in the settings.
Tap Bluetooth near the top right.
On your Chipper hardware, press the power button on the right side panel, under the light.
Wait for the light sequence to flash blue, indicating it is ready for pairing.
In your device Bluetooth Settings, under available devices, select the device that begins with “CHB” and ends with the last 4 digits of your serial number.
If you see the same serial number listed twice, select the one with the single rectangle icon. Not the one with 2 rectangles in the icon.
A window will prompt you with the serial number and passkey, tap OK.
Tap the Home button on your POS device.
The home button is at the bottom of your device. It will bring you back to the main screen and out of any applications.
Open and log into Arryved Service.
Tap STAFF at the top right of the screen.
Tap Settings.
Tap Reader.
Select the Chipper CHB with the matching last 4 digits of the serial number.
Tap Done at the bottom of the settings page.
Let's verify that the pairing worked! Test it out!
In Arryved Service, tap TAB at the top of the screen.
Tap New.
Tap No User Set at the top of the screen.
Tap Reader from the options.
It will take 5-10 seconds to connect the first time.
If successful, you will see "Ready dip/tap."
If the Chipper fails to connect, attempt pairing steps again.
