The tDynamo is Arryved’s latest card reader that offers tap, dip, swipe, Apple Pay, and Google Pay all in one device! Use this guide to learn how to complete a transaction using the tDynamo and how to leave a card on file, too!
Your POS device must be updated to Arryved Service version 2.0 or higher.
Make sure your card reader is fully charged before you begin each day of transactions.
With tDynamo’s EMV card on file feature, you can open a tab with tap, dip, and digital wallets! Hooray!
From the TAB screen in Arryved Service, press and hold the New button to start a new tab.
Wait for the reader to connect.
Hold a card or digital wallet up to the card reader for a tap. Or, dip the card chip into the reader.
In some cases, the name on the card will be captured and auto-filled into the Tab Name field. If not, here’s how to get the cardholder name:
Card Dip: Dipping the card chip into the reader WILL grab the cardholder name! Yay!
No further action is needed. This may be the preferred method for starting a tab.
Card Tap: If you attempt to place a card on file with a card tap, depending on the cardholder's bank, it may block the system from grabbing the name. This is a standard security measure in the EMV card industry. If the name is not grabbed, here's what you can do:
Wait for the screen to say “Payment accepted” after the card tap then swipe the card to grab the name.
Wait 3 seconds to see the name appear. If you attempt to swipe again too quickly, you may freeze the app.
Don’t worry, you won’t be charged an additional transaction fee or processing fee for the swipe!
You can always manually enter a name instead if you desire.
Digital Wallet Tap: A digital wallet tap won’t grab the card name.
You must manually enter a name into the Tab Name field. Ask the guest for a name. The swipe trick won’t work in this case.
Tap Done on the screen to save the card info and open the tab.
A quick Close transaction can be paid for via card tap, card dip, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
The swipe function only becomes available during payment if the dip function fails 3 times. Swipe is now used solely as a backup method.
If a card tap is not working, try dipping the chip into the reader. If that doesn’t work, let that fail 3 times so you can swipe.
