How To Turn TalkBack On/Off

What Is TalkBack?

​TalkBack is an accessibility tool created by Google and is available on your Android devices. TalkBack is a voice assistant that allows you to navigate your device eyes-free. This article shows you how to enable or disable TalkBack from your device’s accessibility settings.

The steps in this article may vary slightly across individual devices. Not to mention system updates could change the interface of the device as well. How It Works

Turn TalkBack On

  1. From your Arryved POS device, tap Settings.

    • This is usually a gear icon on your home screen or apps list.

  2. From the left side navigation, scroll down and tap Accessibility.

  3. Tap TalkBack.

  4. Toggle from Off to On.

  5. Tap Allow from the window prompt to accept the conditions. 


How To Turn Off TalkBack

When TalkBack is on, the device works differently. Selecting anything on the device will require a double tap. Scrolling is done with two fingers instead of one. 

  1. From your Android device, double tap to open Settings. 

    • Usually has a gear icon. 

    • May be on your homepage or in your Apps list. 

  2. From the left side navigation, use two fingers to scroll down, then double tap to select Accessibility. 

  3. Double tap to open TalkBack. 

  4. Double tap the toggle from On to Off. 

  5. Double tap Turn Off from the window prompt to turn off.
