How To Collect Donations

How To Collect Donations

What Are Donations?

Looking for ways your business can support your community? Arryved can help! Set up donations with Arryved and your guests can leave a charitable donation at check out. Gift the funds you collect to an organization of your choice!

You can set up a few donation amounts for your guests to choose from such as $1, $5, or $10. Or, use the round-up method. This article shows you how to set up donations through your Arryved Portal and what that looks like in Arryved Service.

Prerequisites

  • To enable donation in your Arryved Portal, you must be a Portal Super Admin.

Limitations

  • The donation prompt only appears through the digital signature screen when the guest signs and selects a tip. There’s no method for collecting donations on paper signature receipts or when a guest pays cash.

  • The donation message can be no longer than 64 characters.

  • Donations can only be collected through Arryved Service. Not OpenTab or Arryved Online.

  • If you’re processing a return through Arryved Service, the donation prompt will appear when returning funds to a guest’s card.

How It Works

Donations are enabled via your Location Preferences in your Arryved Portal. There are two types of donation methods to choose from,

  1. Fixed donation amounts to choose from

  2. Round up to the nearest dollar

To Configure

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal as a Super Admin.

  2. From the left side navigation, click Location Settings.

  3. Click Location Preferences.

  4. Scroll down and find the section for Donation Preferences

  1. Donation Amounts

This is one of the two donation methods you can choose to implement. Check this first checkbox “Allow donation amounts to show in Service” if you want a guest to select between a few donation options such as $1,$5, or $10.

  • If this box is checked, the checkbox below must be unchecked.

  1. Round-Up

This is the other donation method you can choose to implement. Check the box next to “Allow donation round up to nearest dollar” if you want to ask for a small change donation. The prompt will ask the guest if they’d like to round up their total bill to the nearest dollar. For example, if a guest is paying a bill for $12.14, the donation prompt asks them if they’d like to donate $0.86.

  • If you have this box checked, the box above it must be unchecked.

  1. Donation Button Specification

In the box next to “Donation Button Specification”  specify the fixed donation amounts you’d like the guest to choose from. There is a limit of three options. Enter three numerical values of your choice separated by semicolons with no spaces in between.

  • If you enter more than three values and save, the donation prompt won’t appear in Arryved Service.

  • This field is required to fill out even if you’re using the round-up method. If a guest is paying a tab that is an even dollar amount such as $20.00, they’ll be asked to pick one of the fixed amounts instead of rounding up.

  1. Donation Message

Enter a custom message to appear on the donation prompt in Arryved Service so the guest knows what to do and who the donation is for. This message can only be up to 64 characters long.

Reporting

Let's take a look at how to track the donations collected.

Sales Summary

  • Your Sales Summary has a field showing the total Donations Collected in the Sales Metrics section.

  • Tax and tips are not collected on donations.

  • Donations are not included in your Net Sales, but do contribute to the Total Revenue.

Donation Report

  • The Donation Report provides a list of each donation collected and its tab information. The report can be filtered by Venue and Tab Tags.
