A Flight is a grouped offering of items from your menu from one Item Type. Flights can be anything from beer, cider, spirits, tacos, sliders, etc.! This article will show you how to order a Flight in Arryved Service.
The Flight has been created as an Inventory Item in Arryved Portal.
Flights are between 2 and 8 options.
Flights are ordered as a whole, you can’t order half a flight, then the second half later.
The Flight as a whole can be split, but the individual child items can't be split.
Flight options populate a list from one of your Item Types. A Flight can only pull from 1 Item Type, and the entire Item Type will be the list.
Note: You can have select options on your Flight menu offering, but the entire Item Type will populate in Arryved Service.
Flights will print to 1 printer. Individual Flight items cannot print to different printers.
In Arryved reporting, Flights are recorded as a single Item when sold. The individual child Items sold within the Flight are also individually reported. Keep this in mind and beware of double-reporting on Flights in your taxes.
The order in which the Flight items print on a ticket is determined by a Location Preference that can be adjusted by an Arryved Support Specialist.
Log into Arryved Service.
Tap TAB at the top of the screen.
Tap New at the bottom to create a new tab, or tap on an existing tab, then tap Order.
Tap on the Item Type button that the Flight lives in.
The buttons on the order screen are your Item Types. You can create a separate Item Type for Flights if desired as seen in the image below
Tap on the Flight to order it.
If it is a preset flight, once you tap order, it will appear in the order screen with the preset items and the price. No selections will be made.
For Choose Any X Flights, When the Flight Selection window pops up, tap on the Icons to make a selection for each icon. If it is a Flight of 3, there will be 3 icons.
The items that appear as options are one whole Item Type (assigned in Portal). In this case the Item type shown is Beer. All beers will appear as options even though this is a Flight for stouts only. You will have to select the beers you need and ignore the ones you don’t.
Tap Done when finished making selections.
Review the order and tap Send.
Each of the individual Flight items could have their own printing settings, however, Flights honor the print settings of the Flight as a whole. Therefore the entire Flight will print to one printer, and any items with different print settings will be ignored.
Example:
Draft Beers are set to printer 1 the Beer Flight is set to printer 2.
An order is placed with an 8oz draft pour and a Beer Flight.
The 8oz draft pour prints to printer 1 and the Flight prints to printer 2.
The order that the Flight items will print in is determined by the Location Preference: Order ticket items print order style. This is the same preference used to set printing order for any printed item. So the order in which flight items are printed follows the same logic as any other printed items.
In your Portal, Navigate to Location Settings.
Click on Location Preferences.
Scroll to the section titled Printer Features.
Find the Location Preference Order ticket items print order style.
Select the printing order style you desire.
Keep in mind that changing this preference will not only affect your flights, but also any other items that print when ordered in Service.
Scroll to the bottom to click Save.
See the different Flight types in the image below. This example shows the 3 different ways a stout Flight can be ordered.
Disclaimer: In this example, 3 stout Flights were created separately in Portal.
