Tab Tags act as internal communication among staff by placing a label or “Tab Tag” on a tab. The tag is visible from the tab list on the TAB screen in Arryved Service. Certain tags appear on printed prep tickets too, but not anywhere the guests can see.
Tags are often used to indicate certain things about the people on the tab. They may be part of a reserved party, industry friends, VIP guests, Members, etc. Tags can also indicate an action needed such as checking IDs, cutting guests off, or making the order ToGo.
Many Arryved reports are filterable by Tab Tags so you can isolate data to a specific tag. This guide will walk you through how to create Tab Tags in your Arryved Portal.
To create or edit Tab Tags you need to be a Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions:
LOCATION_SETTING
ARRYVED_VIEW
ALL_ACCESS
FULL_ADMIN
Tab Tags need to be manually added and removed from tabs as needed through Arryved Service. The only Tab Tag that auto-populates is the Check_ID Tag for all OpenTab orders.
You can create any Tab Tags that are unique to your business needs. Follow the steps below to create Tab Tags in your Arryved Portal.
Head to your Arryved Portal with the proper Permissions.
From the left side navigation, click Location Settings.
Click Tab Tag Types.
Scroll to the bottom of your Tab Tags list to enter a new one into the blank fields.
Follow the guidelines below to appropriately fill out the Tab Tag fields.
Click Save when finished!
(1) Name
In the Name field, give this Tab Tag a name that will be visible on the tab list n Arryved Service and on printed prep tickets or KDS Screens.
(2) Label
The label should be a shortened version of the Name that will appear on the list of Tab Tags to choose from in Arryved Service when applying one to a tab.
The Special Tab Processing is how you can tell the Arryved system to perform specific actions with a Tab Tag. There are three actions offered. If you’d like to use them, create the corresponding Tab Tag, and choose its matching option from the dropdown. You can use some, none, or all of these Special Processing Tab Tag Types.
The check ID Tab Tag is helpful to alert staff that the guests on this tab still need their IDs checked before consuming alcohol. This Tag is required if using OpenTab because guests will be placing their own orders. All OpenTab orders will automatically have this Tab Tag until manually removed from the tab (assuming their IDs were checked).
For this Tab Tag to work properly, the Name and Label need to match the Special Tag Processing label exactly. It is not case-sensitive.
“CHECK_ID” or “check_id” is fine.
This Tab Tag Type will print on prep tickets.
This is a useful Tab Tag to alert staff that a guest can no longer be served alcohol. If this tab is placed on an OpenTab, the guest won’t be able to order anything else and can only close the tab from there. Orders may still be placed through Arryved Service on their tab if you feel the customer needs some food to help their situation. The Tag must be manually placed on the tab by a staff member.
The Name and Label can be anything, it doesn’t need to match the Special Tag Processing label.
Once the Tag is placed on the tab in Arryved Service, it’ll populate a TOGO label on the top of any bar or kitchen tickets that print from this tab, allowing staff to understand the packaging needs of this order.
The Name and Label can be anything. It doesn't need to match the Special Tag Processing label.
This Tab Tag Type will print on prep tickets.
The More Text checkbox is not in function at this time.
