If your BBPOS Chipper hardware is giving you a hard time, try one of the following troubleshooting tips.
The Chipper will automatically shut off after 30 minutes of non-use. If you think this has happened, restart the Chipper.
Restart the Chipper
Press the power button on the side of the Chipper under the light.
Wait 10-20 seconds for the light sequence to finish.
Try using the Chipper for your intended task.
If the light is flashing blue, it is ready to be paired.
If the light is solid blue, it is paired and ready for use.
Review the Setup guide for pairing.
You can reset the entire device by pressing the reset button hidden in a pinhole on the bottom of the reader.
Reset the Chipper
Find the small pinhole next to the charging port on the bottom of the Chipper.
Use a safety pin, paperclip, or something small and pointy to press the button in the pinhole. Hold for 3 seconds.
Wait 10-20 seconds for the light sequence to finish.
Try using the Chipper for your intended task.
If the light is flashing blue, it is ready to be paired.
If the light is solid blue, it is paired and ready for use.
