Forced Modifiers With ABM + POS Sync

Forced Modifiers With ABM + POS Sync

What Are Forced Modifiers With ABM + POS Sync?

Forced Modifiers allow you to “force” a choice of modification or addition to a Menu Item at the time it’s ordered. With the ABM + POS Sync, you’ll first enter your Menu Items through your ABM, then create and add Forced Modifiers through your Arryved Portal. Use this guide to learn how to manage Forced Modifiers with the ABM + POS Sync.

Prerequisites

  • You are an Arryved Brewery Management (ABM) user and your Arryved POS is synced with your ABM.

  • Your Menu Items must be added to your ABM before Forced Modifiers can be applied to them.

  • The individual Item Modifiers must be added to your Arryved Portal before creating Forced Modifiers.

  • To add and edit Items in your ABM, you must be a User with either the Admin, Inventory, or Production User Roles.

  • To create or edit Forced Modifiers, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions

    • INVENTORY

    • ALL ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

Limitations

  • When your ABM is synced with your Arryved POS, you cannot add new ‘Inventory Items’ from your Arryved Portal, they must be added from your ABM which will sync to your Arryved Portal.

  • Item Modifiers and Forced Modifiers are not Items themselves, therefore do not live in ABM. They must be managed in your Arryved Portal.

How It Works

Forced Modifiers are generally in the form of a question or command, with options to choose from. When one is applied to an Item, the guest is forced to make a selection when ordering that Menu Item.

Item Modifiers are the options to choose from in a Forced Modifier. They can also be applied to an Item individually (not forced).

  • For example, If ‘Choose a condiment’ is the Forced Modifier for a basket of fries; Ketchup, Mustard, Ranch, and Mayo could be the options to choose from (the Item Modifiers). You can also add any of those condiments to any other Menu Item with or without a Forced Modifier.

  1. Items are your menu offerings that can be ordered through your POS. New Items are added to your ABM, then synced with your Arryved Portal.
  • Once the Item is synced from your ABM to your Arryved Portal (takes up to 30 seconds to sync), you can apply any necessary Forced Modifiers from your Arryved Portal.

Examples Of Forced Modifiers

  • Meat temperatures

  • Choice of side

  • Choice of bread

  • Choice of cheese

  • Choice of toppings

  • Choice of sauce

Item Modifiers

Here’s where you add the Item Modifiers to this Forced Modifier. Begin to type the Item Modifiers and the predictive text will generate selections. Click on an Item Modifier to apply it. Once all Item Modifiers are applied, click and drag to reorder them if desired.

Adding Forced Modifiers To Inventory Items

Once the Forced Modifiers are successfully created, you will add them to the desired Inventory Items. For example, the ‘meat temperature’ Forced Modifier may be applied to any steak or burger Inventory Items.

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal.

  2. Click on Inventory.

  3. Click Inventory Folders.

  4. Click into the ‘(From ABM)’ Folder.

    • When Items are first synced from your ABM to your Arryved Portal, they’ll end up in this folder. You can then move the Items into the Folders of your choice.

  5. From the Folder, click on an Inventory Item of choice.

  6. Click the Modifiers dropdown to expand the section.

  7. Click + Add Forced Modifier

  8. Make a selection from each of the 4 dropdown fields.

    • Learn what each field does below.

  9. Click Save.

Select Forced Modifier

Click to expand a list of all of your Forced Modifiers. Pick one from the list to add to this Inventory Item.

Select Price Floor

This is how upcharges can be applied.

  • The Item Modifier that’s selected as the Price Floor adds no extra cost to the Item.

  • Any other Item Modifiers with the same price or lower will also have no extra cost.

  • Any Item Modifiers that have a cost higher than the price floor add the cost difference to the Item.

For example, If the Price Floor is a $1.00 Modifier, then any other $1.00 or lower Modifiers can be added at no extra cost to the Item. Selecting a $3.00 Modifier would add an additional $2.00 to the Item subtotal.

No Size Set

This is our Forced Modifier By Size feature. Select a Size of the Inventory Item and the Forced Modifier will only apply to that Size. Select ‘Apply to Item’ to apply to all Sizes.

  • Forced Modifiers By Size are only available in Arryved Service at this time. It's not available for Arryved Online or OpenTab Menu Items.

ALL

Choose to have this Forced Modifier apply to this Inventory Item when it is ordered through Arryved Service only (SERVICE), Arryved Online Store + OpenTab only (ONLINE), or all channels (ALL).

  • If you are using a Forced Modifier By Size, leave this field selected to ALL. If you choose ONLINE, an error message will appear when you try to save.
