How To Create Item Modifiers

What Are Item Modifiers?

Modifiers are used to alter items ordered by adding, removing, or substituting aspects of the item. They can be used for miscellaneous notes as well. Item Modifiers are the individual modifiers created in your Arryved Portal, which can be manually added to any item being ordered. Item Modifiers also act as the base modifiers or selection choices for Forced Modifiers. This article will show you how to create Item Modifiers in your Arryved Portal.

Limitations

  • To create or edit Item Modifiers, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal permissions: 

    • INVENTORY

    • ALL ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

  • There are no preset Item Modifiers, they need to be created for your unique business needs. 

  • Modifiers with an upcharge will take the tax rate of the item the modifier is added to.

  • Arryved doesn't support nested modifiers at this time.

How It Works 

Item Modifiers created in your Arryved Portal act as regular modifiers that can be added to any item on the order screen. Item Modifiers are also the selection choices added to Forced Modifiers. 

Examples Of Item Modifiers

  • Condiment options

  • Various add-on ingredients (cheese, protein, veggies, etc.)

  • Toppings

  • Anything with an up-charge

  • Substitutions

  • Items commonly removed

  • Allergy alerts

  • Meat temperatures (rare, med rare, etc.)

  • Growler/Crowler vessel add ons


Steps To Create

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal.

  2. Click on Inventory.

  3. Click on Modifiers.

  4. From the bottom of the list, click +New. 

  5. Fill out the fields to create the Item Modifier.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Repeat for all Item Modifiers you wish to create. 


State

Make the Item Modifier Active, Inactive, or Out (Kicked). 

Description

The full name of the Item Modifier that is visible in the Arryved Portal and reporting.

Hints

Arryved Service uses predictive text to search for modifiers. Type in a few keywords here that will trigger the predictive text. 

Short Form

Displays on the order screen and printed tickets.

Type

At this time, only the Temperature type has an action. The other types are inactive. Adding the Temperature Type to a Forced Modifier will make that modifier appear first on a printed ticket. 

Cost

If there is an upcharge or down charge to this Item Modifier, apply a price here. Leave blank for $0.00. If adding a size for this Item Modifier, a cost is required.

Apply Type

By selecting a category from the dropdown, this Item Modifier will be restricted to apply only to Item Types within that category. 

Size

If the Item Modifier is offered in different sizes, select a size here. A cost will also need to be associated with the size. Create separate Item Modifiers for each size.
