If using a display-only TV or monitor, meaning it can’t hold apps, The Fresh KDS App needs to run on a KDS Controller and connect to the monitor.
Some hardwire cables needed, may not be included.
If you’re setting up Arryved Online or OpenTab for the first time to use with Fresh KDS, you need an Arryved Print Controller.
The Fresh KDS screens deserve their own device, they shouldn’t be sharing with an Arryved POS or Print Controller device.
Fresh KDS offers great flexibility on hardware for screen display. You can purchase new KDS-specific hardware from the Arryved catalog, use old, unused tablets from Arryved, or other devices you may already have. Before you make hardware selections, consider the following:
How many screens do I need?
How large or small can/should those screens be?
Can the screens be placed close enough to use touchscreen? Or is a Bump Bar needed to manage orders?
Where do I want the screens to be mounted?
If using old devices, are they running on the necessary Operating System?
Do I need a KDS Controller?
Needed for screens that can’t hold the Fresh KDS App (such as display only monitors or TVs).

KDS Controller
For display only TVs or monitors, the Fresh KDS App needs to run on a KDS Controller instead. Arryved configures the KDS Controller before sending it to you. Although we offer this type of KDS solution, we strongly encourage steering toward more KDS specific screen options and only using this option as a last resort.
The display only screen connects to the KDS Controller by HDMI cable. HDMI cable may not be included.
To log into the Fresh KDS App daily, a mouse and keyboard are needed.
You’ll also need a Bump Bar to manage the orders on the screen.
Bump Bar
Touchscreen helps manage orders efficiently, but if your screen is out of reach or doesn’t have a touchscreen, you’ll need a Bump Bar. Fresh KDS supports the Logic KB1700 Bump Bar offered in Arryved’s hardware catalog. Other Bump Bars may be supported, talk to your Arryved Specialist.
Mounts
Arryved’s hardware catalog offers wall mounts, pole mounts, and table stands for KDS screens. Double check the mount you choose is compatible with the screen you choose and fits where you need it to in your kitchen.
An Arryved Print Controller is required if you’re setting up Arryved Online or OpenTab with Fresh KDS. If you already use either of those Arryved products, you already have a Print Controller and don’t need another one.
