What Is Menu Sorting?

In your menus that live in your Venues in Arryved Portal, you can sort the Inventory Items to your liking. You’ll probably want to sort items in the most intuitive way for your staff to find and order in Arryved Service. This article shows you how to sort your menu items in your on-premise Venues. 

Prerequisites

• To Sort Menu Items in your Arryved Portal, you must be a Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions:

• INVENTORY

• ALL ACCESS

• FULL  ADMIN

• ARRYVED VIEW

• Your menus need to be created ahead of time before you can begin to sort them.

• Use these instructions for your Venues set to the NORMAL Venue Type. 
  

Limitations

• Menu sorting in your Online Venues (Arryved Online or OpenTab) works a little differently. 

• Use the How To Sort Online Menu Items article instead.

• In Arryved Service, your menu items are grouped under buttons that are created by your Item Types. Sorting menu items doesn’t allow you to sort the Item Types too. The Item Type buttons are sorted by Button Priority.

• You can’t sort items from an individual menu. When you click Sort Menu Items, all items from all menus within that Venue will appear to be sorted. However, you can filter by Item Type to make it easier. 

• After you’ve sorted your items, any new Inventory Items created will add to the bottom of the list. 

How It Works

Sorting Menu Items From A Venue

1. Head to your Arryved Portal.

2. From the left side navigation, click Venue.

3. Click on a Venue of your choice.

4. Click Sort Menu Items on the right side. 
   

When you click on Sort Menu Items from your Venue page, a list will appear will all items across all menus within this Venue. Look at the numbers in the image and corresponding description below to learn how to sort menu items. 

1. Item Type Filter

In Arryved service, your menu items are grouped under buttons created by your Item Types. Select an Item Type from the filter to see only those items. This makes it easier to sort items shown on the same screen in Arryved Service. 

2. Show or Hide Inactive or Kicked Items

Check either of the boxes to show Inactive or Kicked Items. Uncheck the boxes to hide them.

• Inactive Items are highlighted in yellow.

• Kicked Items are highlighted in gray. 

3. Item Details

Each line will show the Name of the Inventory Item, followed by its Item Type, and then the Menu Type.

4. Arrows

Use the arrows next to each item to move it up and down. 

• The double arrows move the item to the very top or very bottom.

• The single arrows move the item up or down one slot. 

• You can click and drag items too, instead of using the arrows. 

• How you sort the items this way is the order in which they will appear under their own Item Type buttons in Arryved Service. 

Pro Tip! Move all of your Happy Hour items to the top. This way, when the timed menu appears, these items will appear at the top in Arryved Service for quick ordering. 

5. Save / Close

When you’re finished sorting, click Save. Then, click Close to return to the Venue page. If you click Close, before Save, your changes will be lost. 

6. Auto Sort

Use Auto Sort if you want all your menu items to appear alphabetically. Any custom sorting will be lost if you click this button.
