OpenTab Schedule Troubleshooting

You may be changing your OpenTab schedule because your business hours have changed, you have an event taking place, or you want to enable OpenTab for a bit during off hours for testing or experimentation. If you are modifying your OpenTab schedule through the OpenTab settings in Arryved Portal, follow this guide to ensure OpenTab works as intended.

Step 1: Change The OpenTab Schedule

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal.

  2. Click Location Settings.

  3. Click OpenTab Settings.

  4. Use the OpenTab schedule to set or modify time frames that OpenTab will be active for guests to access in your establishment.

    • Use the minus button to the right of a time frame to delete it.

    • Use the Plus button at the bottom of the list to add a new time frame.

    • Two time frames cannot overlap.

    • One time frame can end at the same time another one begins.

  5. Click Save on the OpenTab Settings page when finished modifying the schedule.

Step 2: Menus On The OpenTab Venue

Any Inventory Item that you would like available to order through OpenTab must be on an active menu in your OpenTab Venue. There are three things to check for in each menu in your OpenTab Venue: Active Status, Pricing Type, and Menu schedule. If one of these three things is wrong, items will not appear in OpenTab.

  1. From your Arryved Portal, Click Venue.

  2. From the Venue list, click on your OpenTab Venue (it may be named something else).

  3. From that Venue, click on a menu you wish to make active.

Active

For the menu you have selected, make sure the Active checkbox in the upper left corner of the page is checked. See the red arrow in the image above.

Pricing Type

Make sure your Pricing Type from the Menu you clicked into from the Venue is correct. All Inventory Items in this menu should have the same Pricing Type as the menu itself. Usually, the Pricing Type is set to NORMAL. See the red box in the image above.

Check to see what the Pricing Type is set to on your Inventory Items in this Menu.

  1. Click on an Inventory Item that belongs to this menu.

  2. Click on the item again under the label “Name.

  3. Click on the small link labeled Go to Inventory.

  4. From the Inventory Item page, click Costs.

  5. See what the Pricing Type is (usually Normal).

If any Inventory Items on this menu have a Pricing Type that does not match the menu’s Pricing Type, those items will not be present in OpenTab.

If this is a timed menu, make sure this schedule lines up with the OpenTab schedule for the time frame you desire. Click Menu Schedule on the right side of the page. Use the schedule to adjust the schedule for this menu to align with the OpenTab schedule you have already modified. See the red circle in the image above.

Note: The timed menu schedule will not affect menus in Arryved Service. Menus will always be available in Service as long as the Active checkbox is checked. Timed menus do need to be addressed when changing the OpenTab or Online Store schedule.

  1. Repeat for all menus in the OpenTab venue you wish to make active.

Step 3: Other Venues With OpenTab Tables

The process for Step 2 will need to be repeated for the same menus in any Venues that have a table with OpenTab QR codes.

  1. From your Arryved Portal, Click Venue.

  2. From the Venue list, click on a Venue that has OpenTab tables in it.

  3. Click on a menu you wish to make active.

  4. Repeat steps for Active Status, Pricing Type, and Menu schedule as defined in Step 2 above.

  5. Repeat for each menu in each Venue with OpenTab tables you wish to make active.

Changing Back To The Normal Schedule

If you are modifying the OpenTab schedule to use it for testing or experimentation before using it live during business hours, or if you changed the schedule for a one-off event, then you will likely need to change everything back to the way it was once finished.

  • Change the OpenTab schedule back to what it was.

  • Change timed menus back to their original schedule (both in the OpenTab Venue and other Venues with OpenTab tables).

Gut Check!

Make sure you have completed everything here to ensure OpenTab will work as intended.

  • Did you modify the OpenTab schedule to meet your needs?

  • Did you check the menus in your OpenTab Venue?

    • Active box checked?

    • Pricing Type on Menu = Pricing Type of all Inventory Items in that menu?

    • Do Timed Menus align with the OpenTab schedule?

  • Did you check the menus in other Venues that have OpenTab tables in them?

    • Active box checked?

    • Pricing Type on Menu = Pricing Type of all Inventory Items in that menu?

    • Do Timed Menus align with the OpenTab schedule?

  • Did you change the OpenTab schedule and time menus back if needed?
