Printing Order Overview

What Is Printing Order?

Printing order refers to the positions in which items will appear on a printed ticket when they are ordered together. The Print Order feature helps staff who are preparing an order or delivering an order see the information on the ticket in a way that is most helpful for their process.

Prerequisites

Limitations

  1. All items ordered through Arryved Service will print in the logic of the print order style chosen. This includes items on a Flight.
  2. You can’t have more than one print order style working at the same time.

How It Works

There are 4 print order styles to choose from:

  • ADDED

  • ORDER ITEM

  • SEAT ADDED

  • SEAT ORDER

ADDED

Items on the ticket will be displayed in the order that a staff member added them to the order screen in Arryved Service.

ORDER ITEM

If using this print order style, you can use the Inventory Item setting 'Printer Order' to highly customize the order in which your Inventory Items print.

  1. Go to Arryved Portal.
  2. From the left side navigation, click Inventory.
  3. Click on or create an Inventory Folder.
  4. Click on or create a new Inventory Item

In the Inventory Item settings find the Printer Order field on the right side. Here you can enter a numerical value to determine the print order for that item. On a ticket, the item with the smallest number will print first.

Notes

  • If an item does not have a number assigned, the default is 0 and that item will list first on a ticket.

  • If items on a ticket have the same number assigned, within that position, they will print in alphanumeric order based on the item ID given in Portal.

  • We suggest using values in increments of 10. That way when you add more inventory, you can place items in a printer order in between other existing items.

SEAT_ADDED

Items on a ticket will print in order by the seat number assigned to them in Arryved Service. Seat numbers refer to the position guests are sitting at a table or bar. Seat numbers are assigned so that individual items ordered can be tied to the guest who ordered it when there are multiple guests on one tab.

Notes

  • An Arryved team member will need to turn on the Location Preference: Order ticket items by item type order (vs by seat number).

  • If there's only one seat number on the order, items will then print in the order that the staff member entered them on the order screen in Arryved Service.

  • This logic only works properly if the staff member properly selects the seat number for each item at the time the order is taken.

  • Seat numbers are enabled in Arryved Service if the Enable Quantity Input box is unchecked for the Venue you are working under.

    • Go to your Arryved Portal Click Venue Click on a Venue Click Edit Configuration.

    • If the box is checked, then the seat numbers functionality will change to the quantity of the item ordered rather than seat number of who ordered it.

  • Seat numbers will also be activated if the Location Preference Global Quantity Buttons is set by an Arryved team member. This enables both seat number and quantity buttons.

SEAT ORDER

Items on a ticket will print in order based on seat number then within each seat number items will order based on the Printer Order value assigned in the inventory Item settings. This is similar to the ORDER_ITEM print order style, except this takes seat numbers into consideration.

Notes

  • An Arryved team member will need to turn on the Location Preference: Order ticket items by item type order (vs by seat number).

The chart below will give an example of each print order style. Follow Item 3 to see how it will print in a different position based on the print order style.

Notes:

  1. S1-S4 are seat numbers.
  2. Item 0, is an item that defaulted to position 0 because the ‘Printer Order’ field was left blank (no value was entered) when using ORDER_ITEM or SEAT_ORDER.
  3. In the ADDED and SEAT_ADDED column, the items are numbered only to identify them as being the same Inventory item in the other columns.

Service Flow:

  1. Staff member opens Arryved Service.
  2. In the TAB Screen, the server taps on New to start a new order, or they can search for an existing tab and tap Order
  3. The server adds items to the order screen, applies seat numbers to each item if needed, and taps Send.
  4. The columns in the chart are the 4 ways those ordered items will print on a ticket based on the printing order style used.

Gut Check!

Once your print order style is chosen via the location preference, send a few test orders and see if the print style is to your liking.

  • Remember, if you are using SEAT ORDER or SEAT ADDED, be sure to use the seat number function in Arryved Service when placing the order.

  • If you are using SEAT ORDER or ORDER ITEM, be sure to add a Printer Order value to the Inventory Items in Arryved Portal.
