The tDynamo is Arryved’s latest hardware that offers tap, dip, swipe, and digital wallets all in one card reader! The tDynamo is exclusive with Arryved Pay, our new, end-to-end, payment solution with in-house payment processing. Use this guide to set up your new tDynamo card readers and transition out of your old ones. This guide includes pairing instructions.
Use this guide once you’ve received your new tDynamo card readers. Have them fully charged and the mounting devices handy.
Grab the POS devices you want to pair with your new card readers.
You must update Arryved Service to version 2.0 on all of your POS devices that’ll have a tDynamo card reader.
The new tDynamo card reader is even more durable than ever! But please keep in mind that they can still break if banged around too much!
Do not mount the card reader to the POS device directly. Mount the provided clip so you can attach and remove the card reader at any time to set it aside for charging or to view the serial number on the back of it. The serial number is needed for pairing.
If the card reader’s battery is below 20%, it may have a hard time connecting to Arryved Service.

Pair new tDynamo card readers
First, we must remove your old card readers to make space for the new ones.
Grab the POS devices you want to pair with your new card readers.
For any easily detachable card readers and koozies, go ahead and remove those first.
For koozies that are attached with sticky tape, twist them to detach. Don’t pull!
Pro Tip! Try sliding a piece of floss back and forth in between the koozie and POS device to detach the sticky tape.
Use Isopropyl or alcohol wipes to remove any sticky residue. A clean surface is necessary to attach the new reader.
The new tDynamo card readers can live in a stand-alone dock and placed on any surface area. The dock has the charging cable attached and the tDynamo card reader can be removed from the clip when needed.
If you want the tDynamo directly attached to your POS device, the clip can be mounted with sticky tape:
Find the perfect spot for the clip on your tablet, handheld, or foam case.
See the image examples below for the best placement.
Place the clip properly so the card reader’s dip/swipe ports face in the best direction to insert or swipe a card.
On a handheld device, you’ll probably want the dip/swipe ports to face downward so the card can be inserted from the bottom of the device.
On a tablet stand or foam case, the dip/swipe ports should be facing upward so the card can be inserted from the top of the device.
Be sure the surface area is clean. Use alcohol wipes to remove residue, dust, and oils.
Remove the backing of the sticky tape and apply it to the POS device or the clip itself.
Make sure the outer edge of the clip is facing in the correct direction so that tap, dip, swipe, and the charging port are accessible (see image examples below). Press the clip into the device and sticky tape. Hold for 30 seconds.
Wait 24 hours before applying weight to the clip for maximum hold.
After 24 hours, pop the reader into the clip. Be sure the charging port and the tap, dip, and swipe ports are positioned correctly.
Open the Android Settings on your POS device, it'll appear as a grey gear icon on your tablet/handheld device.
Tap Connections at the top of the list.
Tap Bluetooth.
Make sure the toggle switch next to the word Bluetooth is toggled ON and appears blue.
Press and hold the pushbutton on the side of the reader for 3 seconds until you see the LEDs flash blue 3 times.
IMPORTANT! If you hold the pushbutton down for too long (5 seconds +) the card reader will shut off. Be sure to count to exactly 3 seconds for pairing mode.
From the Bluetooth settings on the POS device, find your card reader.
It’ll appear as ‘tDynamoB…’ followed by the serial number.
You can check the serial number by looking at the back of the reader.
When prompted for a pin type in 000000 (six zeros in a row).
Tap STAFF.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Reader button.
Select the reader labeled 'tDynamoB[serial number]'.
In Arryved Service, start and close a few test tabs to see if the card reader is paired and working properly!
