Validation is how we secure your data and get your POS devices to talk to your Arryved Portal. Any new Arryved device using Arryved Service or Print Controller needs to be validated before first-time use.
There are certain instances when you may need to revalidate Arryved Service or Print Controller on a device already in use. Don’t worry, one of the friendly voices on Arryved’s Support Team will let you know when to do so.
An Arryved Team member has instructed you to revalidate a device.
The device you are revalidating has used Arryved Service before. If this is a brand new device validating for the first time, read How To Validate A New Device instead.
Find out the name of the POS device you are revalidating.
Find the name in Arryved Service under STAFF → Diagnostics → Device Name (in small print at the top).
Find the name in Arryved Portal under Devices → Merchant Devices.
To retrieve your validation code in Arryved Portal, you need to be a Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions.
MANAGE HARDWARE, ALL ACCESS, or FULL ADMIN
After entering the validation code, you’ll have to tap “Allow” on all the Permission prompts in Arryved Service or Print Controller. If you tap “Don’t Allow” or “Allow once,” you’ll restrict access to important functions of the product.
if you restrict any of these permissions, you can allow them through the Android Settings.
Allowing audio recording is for connecting your MagTek Audio Card Reader.
The validation code expires after 30 minutes.
If you miss the 30-minute window to validate and need to get a new code, you'll have to name the device something different the next time in Arryved Portal.
If you generate too many validation codes in a short time, you may be locked out from validating the device and have to wait a day or so.
Revalidating a device is a three-part job. Here’s the sequence,
Get a new validation code in your Arryved Portal.
Clear storage and cache for Arryved Service or Print Controller.
Use the code to revalidate Arryved Service or Print Controller on the device.
In this step, you’ll regenerate a validation code for a POS device in your Arryved Portal. Make sure you have your device’s name handy.
Head to your Arryved Portal and login.
From the left side navigation, click Devices.
Click Merchant Devices.
Find the name of your device from the list. Click on the device name.
Click on the Revalidate button with the down arrow. It’s located near the top left.
Click Confirm.
A 6-digit code will appear. Record the code or keep this screen up.
In this step, you need to clear the storage and cache for Arryved Service or Print Controller via the Android Settings on this device.
Grab the device you are revalidating.
Open the device’s Android Settings, this is usually a gear icon.
Tap Apps (or Applications), usually along the left side of Settings.
Tap on Arryved Service or Arryved Print Controller.
From the Settings of Arryved Service, tap Storage.
Tap Clear storage (this may say Clear data depending on your device).
Tap Ok.
This should automatically clear the cache as well and disable both buttons. If not, tap on Clear Cache too.
In this step, you’ll enter the validation code from your Arryved Portal into the Registration page in Arryved Service or Print Controller.
Get out of the Android Settings on your device and open Arryved Service or Arryved Print Controller.
Tap Allow on all the Permission prompts, there are about five of them.
From the Register New Merchant Device screen, enter the 6-digit validation code.
Tap Validate.
Note: If you tap Cancel instead of Validate, you’ll be taken to the clock-in/log-in screen, but won’t be able to get past that point. You’ll have to repeat the process of clearing the storage and cache and enter the validation code.
Boom! You’re in! If it worked, you’ll see the clock-in/log-in screen of Arryved Service or the home screen of Print Controller.
For Arryved Service, after you log in, select a Venue from the top left corner where your location’s name displays. Once you select a Venue, you’re able to start a new tab!
