ABM <> POS: Modifier Groups

ABM <> POS: Modifier Groups

What Are Modifiers?

Generally speaking, "Modifiers" are customizations or adjustments that your guests can request for their food and drink. They also provide the special instructions to your kitchen or bar to prepare the menu items as the guest requested.

Item Modifiers are the individual modifications you'd like to offer. They are unique to your business.

Modifier Groups categorize your similar Item Modifiers together and can be added to your Inventory Items so that the server or guest is prompted to make a selection from that Group with that Item. For example, prompting to choose which type of cheese they want on their burger.

Prerequisites

  • You are an Arryved Brewery Management (ABM) user and your Arryved POS is synced with your ABM.

  • To add and edit Items in your ABM, you must be a User with either the Admin, Inventory, or Production User Roles.

  • To create or edit Modifiers, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions

    • INVENTORY

    • ALL ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

Limitations

  • Item Modifiers and Modifier Groups are not Items themselves; therefore do not live in ABM. They must be managed in your Arryved Portal.

How It Works

Example of Modifiers

  • Menu Item: Cheeseburger

  • Modifier Group: Choice of Cheese

  • Item Modifiers in this Group: Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper Jack, Gouda

  • Applied to the Inventory Item: Apply this Modifier Group to the cheeseburger Item, and the server or guest will be prompted to select one of the cheese options when they order the cheeseburger.

Other Examples of Modifier Groups

  • Meat temperatures

  • Choice of side

  • Choice of dressing

  • Choice of cheese

  • Choice of toppings

  • Choice of sauce

  • Drink Garnishes

  • Prep instructions (tossed, grilled, fried)

Order of Events

With the ABM + POS Sync, new Menu Items are added on the ABM side, and then Item Modifiers and Modifier Groups are added on the Arryved Portal side. Here are the steps:

  1. In your ABM, add your Menu Items. Wait up to 30 seconds for them to sync and become visible in your Arryved Portal.

  2. In your Arryved Portal, create Item Modifiers.

  3. In your Arryved Portal, create Modifier Groups.

  4. In your Arryved Portal, add Modifier Groups to your Menu Items (Inventory Items).

Instructions

Use the guides below for full instructions on how to create Menu Items, Item Modifiers, and Modifier Groups. Remember, Items must be created in your ABM first, then everything else in your Arryved Portal:
