Have a new device fresh out of the box? Let’s get it set up for success! This article walks you through the steps to turn your Android device into an Arryved POS. If your POS device was purchased from the Arryved catalog, it’ll come pre-configured for you. If you sourced your own device or did a factory reset, you’ll need to configure it using these instructions before it can be used for transacting.
You’ve sourced your own device to use as an Arryved POS. Or, you have factory reset one of your POS devices.
The device is fully charged.
Have your POS WiFi network name and password handy.
The Arryved Hardware Catalog is continually updated with the latest devices. Our customers are using different devices depending on when they joined Arryved. The steps in this article may vary slightly across individual devices. Not to mention system updates could change the interface of the device as well. Differences should be subtle enough to navigate through, but don’t hesitate to reach out to our award-winning Support Team if you get stuck.
Don’t attempt to use your personal email to log into the device. We want to keep your personal information personal. Please use your Arryved email.

Best Practices
When you first power on a new device, or one that had a factory reset, you’re prompted to tap through the initial required settings. Here’s what you need to do (keep in mind septs could be different across different devices),
Tap Start from the welcome screen.
Agree to the device’s terms and conditions.
From the Permissions for Apps and Services, Un-toggle anything you don’t need for this tablet such as the calendars, phone, call logs, or contacts. This device is for POS needs only! Then tap Agree to continue.
Leaving these things toggled on won’t cause harm, but disabling them frees up storage space and helps avoid distractions from the POS needs.
Select your POS WiFi network and enter the password.
If you skip this, you can connect later from the Android Settings.
Next, it’ll ask you if you want to “copy apps and data” from your Google account. Tap Skip or Don’t Copy.
Log into this device with your Arryved Gmail account.
Use the Gmail Setup Guide to learn how to create a new Gmail for your POS devices. Sign in with that Gmail here.
You can skip this for now and sign in later.
If you're an existing Arryved customer and were given Gmail credentials upon onboarding, resembling 'yourcompany@arryved.com', sign in with those credentials instead of making a new Gmail.
Agree to Google’s terms and conditions.
You may have 2-step verification set up for your Google account. If so, follow the prompt to verify your account.
Next, Un-toggle all of the Google Services except Location Services, you’ll need that later. Disabling the services we don’t need helps alleviate storage clutter. Tap Accept to continue.
You can set up a pin or password if you’d like but we recommend skipping this so your staff can get into the device daily without hassle. Staff will log into Arryved Service with their own log in codes.
It may ask you to create a Samsung account, tap Skip.
Skip the Google Assistant prompt.
If you see the apps list, you can uncheck any apps you don’t need such as Netflix and Spotify. tap OK when done.
Tap Finish.
We want you to have only the latest and greatest! If there’s a new version of the software (there usually is), let’s use it!
Tap the Settings icon from this Android device.
Tap Software Updates from the left side navigation.
Tap Download and Install next to the new system update.
If your device is up to date, skip this step.
The download may take up to 10 minutes.
Once downloaded, select Install Now.
Once installed, the device may ask you to install it a second or third time. Keep tapping the Install Now button as many times as it appears until the install is fully complete.
If you didn’t have your Arryved Gmail credentials handy during Step 1 of this guide, here’s how you can do it in the Android Settings once you’ve received the login credentials you need. Skip this step if you are already logged into your Arryved account on this device.
Tap on Accounts & Backup from the left side navigation in the Android Settings.
Tap Manage Accounts.
Tap + Add Account.
Select Gmail.
Sign in with your POS Gmail.
Use the Gmail Setup Guide to learn how to create a new Gmail for your POS devices. Sign in with that Gmail here.
If you're an existing Arryved customer and were given Gmail credentials upon onboarding, resembling 'yourcompany@arryved.com', sign in with those credentials instead of making a new Gmail.

Find it on your apps list.
Using the search bar at the top, search for “Arryved Service.”

Make sure it’s the one that says “Arryved Service” with the new purple logo. Not the one that just says “Arryved” with the old red logo.
Tap Install.
Validate
Arryved Service (either version) needs to be validated anytime it's installed on a device for the first time. Follow the steps in How To Validate A New Device and return to this guide when finished. You’ll need to get into your Arryved Portal for this.
From the Google Play Store, search for the “Epson TM Utility” app and install it. This app is used for printer configuration and troubleshooting. You’ll use this app when advised to by Arryved Support, but they want you to have the app downloaded and ready to go for when the time comes.
