The DynaFlex II Go is Arryved’s latest EMV card reader that offers tap, dip, swipe, and digital wallets all in one! The DynaFlex is exclusive to Arryved Pay, our end-to-end payment solution with in-house payment processing. Use this guide to learn more about how your DynaFlex II Go operates and learn how to troubleshoot if you’re experiencing any issues.
Treat your DynaFlex with care. Be careful not to drop, hit, or shake the reader. If it endures too much physical damage, it may go into Tamper Mode and will need to be swapped out for a new one.
You must update Arryved Service to version 2.13 or higher on all your POS devices with a DynaFlex II Go card reader. You’ll want to keep Arryved Service up to date at all times to ensure you’re operating with the latest improvements.
If you’ve opted out of Preauthorization with Arryved, your card reader may not be able to detect expired cards or start a tab with digital wallets.
Digital wallets will not grab the cardholder’s name when starting a tab. A Tab Name will need to be manually entered or a Table Number selected.
If the POS device is offline or in Offline Mode, it will not grab the cardholder’s name when starting a tab. Offline Mode also can’t detect expired cards.
The DynaFlex II Go doesn’t support gift cards with Track 1 data. Track 2 is supported. You won't need to worry if you’ve purchased gift cards from one of our recommended suppliers (eCard Systems or 4ics).
If all LEDs are off, the device is powered off.
To power on, hold the pushbutton down for 2 seconds until you see LED #4 light up (if it’s not plugged in) or all 4 LEDs light up (if it’s plugged into USB).
You will then hear 1 beep, and the light sequence will continue.
The device will remain powered on whenever it’s plugged in.
The reader cannot be powered off if it’s plugged in.
If it’s not plugged in, you can hold the pushbutton and wait until you hear 2 beeps (about 2 seconds) to power off.
P.S. If you keep holding past 2 beeps or 2 seconds, it will enter pairing mode instead of powering off.
Hold the pushbutton and wait until you hear 4 beeps to enter Pairing Mode. LED #4 will start flashing when the reader is ready to be paired.
The DynaFlex emits a beeping sound to let you know what’s going on. Different beep sequences mean different things:
The DynaFlex has 4 LED lights on the front side of the reader. These lights help you indicate the current state of the reader and can help you troubleshoot from there.
To see the battery level using the LEDs, hold the pushbutton down until you hear 6 beeps, and the LEDs will show the battery level for 3 seconds, then return to their previous state.
If you’re having trouble with your DynaFlex card reader, try some of these tips below:
Is the reader fully charged?
Is the charging cable functional? Can it successfully charge another card reader?
Test the charging cable on different outlets.
Check the light sequences for current battery level (use the chart above).
Be sure to charge the reader every night to ensure a full charge the next day.
Use a double-sided USB-C cord to plug the reader into the POS device’s charging port. This will keep the reader’s battery alive longer without draining the POS battery.
Plugged into USB: Remember, if the reader is plugged in, it can’t be powered down, but when it is plugged into a USB, you can hold the pushbutton down until you hear 2 beeps and see all 4 LEDs flash, and this will reset the reader.
Not plugged in: If the reader is not plugged in, you can power it off and start it up again to give it a refresh. Hold the pushbutton down for 2 beeps (2 seconds). The LEDs will then power off. Let it rest for 10-30 seconds, then power it on by pressing the pushbutton again for about 2 seconds.
Hold the pushbutton down and wait to hear 4 beeps. LED #4 will begin to flash when the reader is ready to be paired.
Within the Android Settings on your POS device, select Connections.
Select Bluetooth. Make sure the toggle switch is toggled on.
See if the reader is paired here. Look for the serial number on the back of your card reader.
This reader should appear under the Paired Devices list as ‘DF II Go B[Serial #]’ followed by the serial number. Tap it to pair it.
Select the small icon to the right of the device name and click Unpair.
On your card reader, press and hold the button on the side of the reader until you hear 4 beeps to indicate it has entered Pairing Mode.
Your DynaFlex II Go serial number should now appear in the Available Devices list on Android devices. Select it.
When prompted for a PIN, type in ‘000000’ (six zeros).
Open Arryved Service.
Tap on the STAFF screen.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Reader button.
Select ‘DF II GO B[Serial #]’ for Bluetooth pairing or ‘USB DynaFlex II Go’ if it’s plugged into your POS.
If you’re having trouble getting your Bluetooth to connect, try turning the reader off and back on again just after you complete the pairing steps.
