A Flight is a grouping of Menu Items ordered together as one Item. Flights can offer anything from beer, cider, spirits, tacos, sliders, etc! With the ABM + POS Sync, you’ll first enter the Flight Item in your ABM, then configure the Flight options in your Arryved Portal. Use this guide to learn how to manage Flights with the ABM + POS Sync.
You are an Arryved Brewery Management (ABM) user and your Arryved POS is synced with your ABM.
The Flight Parent Item must be added to your ABM before it can be configured through your Arryved Portal.
To create or edit Flights, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions:
INVENTORY
TIMED MENU CONFIGURATION
ALL ACCESS
FULL ADMIN
Flights are between 2 and 8 options.
Flights can't have Modifiers or Forced Modifiers.
The Items grouped together in the Flight must be from the same Item Type.
Flights are sent to 1 printer or KDS screen. Individual Flight items can’t be sent to different stations.
If you’d like to customize the order in which Flight Items display on a ticket, contact Arryved Support.
When your ABM is synced with your Arryved POS, you cannot add new Items from your Arryved Portal, they must be added from your ABM which will sync to your Arryved Portal.
Flight configurations cannot be completed in your ABM, they must be configured through your Arryved Portal after the Flight Parent Item has synced.
The Parent Item is the Flight itself as a whole Item.
For example, ‘IPA Flight’, or ‘Taco Flight’ could be the name of the Parent Item.
The Flight’s Child Items are the individual Items that come with the Flight.
For example, the ‘Hazy IPA’, ‘House IPA’, and ‘Double IPA’ could be the Child Items.
Before you can configure the Flight, you must first:
Add the Flight Parent Item to your ABM.
The Retail Price of the Item should be the price of the whole Flight (if fixed) or set to $0.00 if the price shall vary based on the guest’s selections.
Add the ‘Flight’ Item Size to it. If you don’t have a Flight Size, add one to your Item Sizes list.
Add all the possible Child Items to your ABM.
The Retail Price of the Child Items should be the price they’d be sold at individually (not in the Flight).
The Parent and Child Items in your ABM will sync with your Arryved Portal (in up to 30 seconds) and create equivalent ‘Inventory Items’.
Once the above prerequisites are complete, you can then follow the instructions in the rest of this guide to:
Configure the Flight from your Arryved Portal.
Head to your Arryved Portal.
From the left side navigation, click Inventory.
Click Inventory Folders.
Click into the ‘(From ABM)’ Folder.
When Items are first synced from your ABM to your Arryved Portal, they’ll end up in this folder. You can then sort the Items into the folders of your choice.
Find the Flight Parent Item you created in your ABM (Ex: ‘IPA Flight’ or ‘Taco Flight’). Click to open it.
Scroll down to the Tags section, click to expand the section.
From the Tags dropdown, select the FLIGHT Item Tag.
The Flight Settings section will appear below the Tags section. Click to expand it.
Under the Grouping Size dropdown, select the Size that the Child Items will come in.
For Example, a beer Flight might consist of ‘Taster’ or ‘5oz’ pours.
From the Grouping Type dropdown, select the appropriate Item Type.
For example, a beer Flight might pull from your ‘DRAFT BEER’ or ‘IPA’ Item Type (Item Types were created according to your own preference of how you wanted to organize your Items).
When you’re done configuring the Flight, click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Pro Tip! Next to the Save button, use the ‘Change Inventory Folder’ button to move this Flight Item out of the ‘(From ABM)’ folder, into a Folder of your choice.
