Rewards are one of the Insider Perks you Insider Members can enjoy. They are items on the menu that can be paid for in full with Loyalty Points. You choose which of your Inventory Items you’d like to give away as a Reward and set a Loyalty Cost for each. With enough Loyalty Points, Members can redeem the Rewards on your menu anytime they visit. This article shows you how to create Insider Rewards in your Arryved Portal.
You’ve read the Arryved Insider Overview guide.
Your Arryved Insider program is active.
An Arryved Portal Super Admin needs to active Rewards in your Arryved Portal by enabling the "Arryved Insider Rewards" Location Preference.
To create Rewards, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Permissions:
INVENTORY
ALL ACCESS
FULL ADMIN
Rewards are only available to your Insider Members.
Reward items that are Inactive or Out (Kicked), or not on any menus, won’t be redeemable in Arryved Service until they are Active and on menus.
Flights can't be Rewards.
Active Rewards can be redeemed at a 100% discount by Members who have enough Loyalty Points at any time. Keep this in mind if there are Reward items you don’t want to give away at certain times or at all.
Reach out to Arryved Support if you’d like to limit the number of Rewards that can be redeemed on a tab. So Members can’t use all the Points they’ve been saving to buy you out of house and home one day.
Insider Offers and Rewards can’t be redeemed on the same tab.
Pro Tip!: To allow Members to redeem both Rewards and Offers, split off the Reward items, and pay the split tab with their Loyalty Points. You can close the tab out at $0. Then, use the Offer on the original tab.
Insider Perks are adding free items and discounts to your Members’ tabs. This may cause your overall tip collection to decrease. Here are two solutions,
Custom Tip: Point out the Insider Perks given on Loyalty Member’s tab and encourage them to use the Custom tip button on the Digital Signature screen if they’d like to account for the full service given on the free or discounted items.
Set tabs to calculate tips off the pre-comp amount. Contact Arryved Support or your Customer Success Manager to change this preference for you. Keep in mind that there are other scenarios where pre-comp tips may be a disadvantage.
Rewards are paid for with Loyalty Points and redeemed on a tab for $0. You get to choose which of your menu items you want to give away as Rewards. When you give an Inventory Item a Loyalty Cost in your Arryved Portal, it’s now a redeemable Reward.
An Inventory Item’s Loyalty Cost is the amount of Loyalty Points an Insider Member needs to redeem the item for free. Different Unit Sizes of an item can have their own Loyalty Costs.
Members earn 1 Loyalty Point for every 1¢ they spend on items ordered during visits to your business. Think about how much you want Members to spend before they redeem a particular item for free. Below are a few examples to get your brain juices flowing, but you can calculate your Loyalty Costs however you see fit.
The Punch Card Example
Think about a punch card for a coffee shop. 10 hole punches get you a free cup of coffee. If a coffee is $3, Members earn 300 Loyalty Points every time they buy one. When they’ve bought 10 cups (or spent $30) they’ll have earned 3,000 Points.
In Arryved Portal, you’ll give your Coffee Inventory Item a Loyalty Cost of 3,000.
$3.00 (price of coffee) x 100 (pennies) x 10 (punch holes) = 3,000 Loyalty Points.
With 3,000 Points, a Member can redeem a cup of coffee for free.
Use this example for draft beer, cocktails, 6-packs, or anything else!
Spend $500
Let’s say you want to give away a free T-shirt to your Members once they’ve spent at least $500 total during visits. Members will have earned 50,000 Loyalty Points for spending $500.
In Arryved Portal, give your T-shirt Inventory Item a Loyalty Cost of 50,000.
$500.00 (dollars spent) x 100 (pennies) = 50,000 Loyalty Points.
With 50,000 Points, a Member can redeem the T-shirt for free.
Once you have outlined the Loyalty Costs you want to assign to your Rewards items, here’s how to create the Reward:
Head to your Arryved Portal.
From the left side navigation, click Inventory.
Click Inventory Folders.
Click on a Folder of your choice.
Click on an Inventory Item.
From the Inventory Item’s page, scroll down and click Costs to expand the section.
Next to each Unit Size, enter a Loyalty Cost. Don’t include any commas or decimals.
You don’t have to assign a Loyalty Cost to each Unit Size, only the ones you want to give away as a Reward. Leave the field blank if you don’t want a certain size to be included as a Reward.
If you don’t see the Loyalty Cost fields next to each Unit Size, contact Arryved Support to activate them for you.
Click Save at the top or bottom of the page.
Repeat these steps for all the Inventory Items you want to up as a Reward.
Note: To give you some perspective, you may be assigning the same Loyalty Cost to many items, possibly even an entire Item Type.
For example, if your Reward is a free pint of beer for 12,000 Points, then each of your draft beer Inventory Items should have 12000 entered in the Loyalty Cost field next to the Pint (or 16oz) Unit Size.
Do you need to enter a Loyalty Cost for 100+ Inventory items? Contact Arryved Support or your Customer Success Manager to do a bulk Reward entry for you. You’ll fill out the desired Items and Loyalty Costs on a spreadsheet, and the Arryved Superheroes can save you time clicking buttons in your Arryved Portal!
If you no longer wish for an Inventory Item to be redeemed as a Reward, simply delete the Loyalty Cost of the item in your Arryved Portal and save. You can also contact Arryved Support to turn off Rewards for your Insider program altogether.
