Merging tabs refers to the joining of two or more tabs into one. There are a few ways to merge tabs on Arryed Service, this article will show you how.
The ability to merge a new tab into an active tab is a new feature offered by Arryved! It isn’t available to you by default. If you are an Arryved Portal Super Admin, you can turn it on in your Location Preferences.
Check the box next to the Location Preference “Hot Merge into an active tab when naming a new one without needing to back out of the ordering screen.”
Tabs that are merged into the main tab will lose any card information on file. The main tab’s card information remains the same.
Once a partial payment has been made on a tab, it can no longer be merged to another tab.
There are three ways to merge in Arryved Service,
Merging two or more active tabs together.
Merging a new tab into an active tab.
Merging a split tab.
To merge two or more active tabs together, first, find the tab that you want the other tab(s) to merge into. This tab will remain active.
From the TAB screen in Arryved Service, search for the main tab.
Tap on the tab.
From the Running Tab Window, tap Merge.
You’ll see a list of all active tabs appear. Use the search bar there to search by tab name, table number, or check #.
Tap on the tab(s) you want to merge into the main tab, they will highlight in blue.
Tap Merge.
On the review screen, verify that the correct tab(s) are merging into the correct main tab.
Tap Merge again.
All items from the other tab(s) are now added to the main tab. The other tabs no longer exist and any card information on those is lost. Card information on the main tab is preserved.
Here’s a likely scenario, you begin to take a new guest’s order and start a new tab adding their selections to the order screen, then the guest mentions they want to add these items to someone else’s tab. No problem, we can merge mid-order without having to cancel or back out of the order screen!
From the TAB screen in Arryved Service, tap New at the bottom of the screen to start a new tab.
You can begin to add items to the order or not.
Tap on No User Set at the top of the order screen.
Find the bar labeled Active Tabs, and tap the down arrow to expand the list of tabs.
Use the search bar to search by tab name, table number, or check number.
Tap on the tab you want to merge into.
From the prompt, verify you’re choosing the correct tab, then tap Yes.
You’re now back on the order screen, but the tab name is replaced with the tab that you just merged into. You’re now ordering off this tab. You can add more items to the order and tap Send to fire the order!
This type of merging is not available in Arryved Service by default. See the Prerequisites at the top of this article to learn how to enable it.
After a tab has been freshly split, you can quickly merge the parts back together if you need to start over or think you split the wrong tab. Find the Merge button just after a split.
