How To Use Modifiers In Arryved Service

What Are Modifiers?

Generally speaking, "Modifiers" are customizations or adjustments that your guests can request for their food and drink. They also provide the special instructions to your kitchen or bar to prepare the menu items as the guest requested.

Item Modifiers are the individual modifications you'd like to offer. They are unique to your business.

Modifier Groups categorize your similar Item Modifiers together and can be added to your Inventory Items so that the server or guest is prompted to make a selection from that Group with that Item. For example, prompting to choose which type of cheese they want on their burger.

Prerequisites

Limitations

  • The ORDER Labor Role Permission is required for an employee to place an order and use modifiers in Arryved Service.

  • Modifiers with an upcharge will take the tax rate of the item the modifier is added to.

How It Works

Applying an Item Modifier

Begin an order

  1. Log into Arryved Service.

  2. From the TAB screen, tap New to start a new order or tap on an existing tab to place another order.

    • If you tapped on an existing tab, tap Order next.

  3. From the order screen add any menu item to the order.

  4. Tap on an item in the order screen to open the Item Modifiers screen.

Select The Modifier Type

  1. From the Item Modifiers screen, you can tap on Add, No, or Sub. Add will be the default if you do not select another button.

    • The Item Modifier selected will either be indicated as an addition, removal, or substitution based on the button selected.

Predictive Text

  1. Once a button is selected, use the entry field to begin to type the Item Modifier.

  2. When you see the Item Modifier you need, tap it to select it.

    • You can add multiple Item Modifiers to an item using different button types.

    • If you need to add a modifier that does not exist in your Arryved Portal, you can hand-type it in as a note.

  3. Tap Done when finished modifying the item.

  4. Review the order and tap Send

Modifier Groups

If you add a menu item to the order screen that has any Modifier Group applied to it, those Groups will prompt the server to make a selection when that Item is ordered.

  • Depending on how the Modifier Groups were created, there can sometimes be zero or many required selections.

  • There can be more than one Modifier Group that appears for one menu item.

Modifier Colors

When modifiers appear under an item in the order screen, they will be highlighted in one of 4 colors:

Red: Modifier Group selection with no upcharge (TOM).

Light Purple: Item Modifier with no upcharge (BACN).

Green: Modifier Group or Item Modifier with an upcharge (AVOC). Upcharges will display the upcharge price.

Light Gray: This is a hand-typed note, not any existing Item Modifier or Modifier Group (E.g., "Rush").
