You may need to test your WiFi network to see if it can properly communicate with your Arryved devices and allow for printing and other communications. A ping test stands for Packet Inter-Network Groper and is used to verify if a network is capable of delivering data to an IP address without errors. This article provides instructions for running a simple ping test for network communication.
Have 2 Android devices handy for this ping test. At least one of them needs to have Arryved Service.
This article provides instructions for a ping test using an Android device with Arryved Service. If you would like to use a desktop computer to test your network instead, you can use one of the following articles:
You will need 2 android devices to complete this ping test. Follow the instructions below.
First, grab one of the two Android devices you are using. If one of the devices does not have Arryved Service, start with that one.
From the first Android device, open Google Play Store.
Using the search bar, search “Ping IP Network Utility.”
Tap on the app from the image below created by ZoroSoft.
Download and install the app.
In this step, you will double check that both of your Android devices are connected to the same network. Use the same network that you use for all of your Arryved POS devices.
Grab one of the 2 devices you are using. Open the Device’s Settings from the homescreen or apps list.
Tap Connections.
Tap WiFi.
Tap on the correct WiFi network and enter the password if needed.
Repeat for the other device.
Use the other of the two Android devices where you did not download the Ping IP app and locate the network’s IP address. You will find it in Arryved Service.
Open Arryved Service and login.
Tap STAFF at the top of the screen.
Tap the Diagnostics button.
Under the Network section, locate and record the IP Address.
Grab the device that has the Ping IP app downloaded onto it.
Open the Ping IP app.
In the white bar, enter the IP address of the other device that you recorded earlier.
Tap Ping.
Once you have entered the IP Address and tapped Ping, you can analyze the results. You can tap the STOP button to stop the test after a few lines of code have appeared.
Your network has passed the ping test and can successfully communicate with Arryved devices if you see “Reply from…” in the lines of code. See the image below.
Your network has failed the ping test and cannot communicate with your Arryved devices if you see “Request time out” in the lines of code. See image below.
If your ping test failed, refer back to the Epson Printer Troubleshooting guide and try the troubleshooting steps. If you are still having trouble, you can contact your IT Specialist or Arryved Support.
