You may have items such as a keg or tap handle which you take a deposit for. Maybe you take deposits for a private event or some other reason. This article shows you how to create your deposit Inventory Items in your Arryved Portal using the various deposit Item Tags.
Best practice is to create a Tax Type and Item Type for your deposit items. Ask your accountant about appropriate tax rates.
Create the Unit Sizes you’ll need for the deposit items.
For example, ½ barrel, ⅙ barrel for kegs. Small and Large for tap handles.

If you change the price on one of your deposit items, those deposits that are current in Arryved Service won't preserve the original price and when refunded will instead be refunded to the new price. It's recommended to create a new deposit item with the intended new price and retire the old deposit items when no longer in circulation.
A deposit is an Inventory Item just like any other. If you need a refresher, read How To Create An Inventory Item. Here’s what’s needed for deposit items.
Whether it’s a keg, tap handle, pump, event, or some other kind of deposit, give it an appropriate name.

Deposit Item Tags
Applying one of the Deposit Item Tags tells the system that this Inventory Item is a deposit and considers its sale as a liability. The Item Tags also allow the deposit item to be easily refunded later in Arryved Service.
Item Tags are also great for reporting. Many of Arryved’s reports can be filtered by Item Tags so you can track their activity.
Click the arrow next to Tags to expand the section.
Click +Add Tag to add a Tag.
Choose one of the four Deposit Item Tags.
Event Deposit
Handle Deposit
Keg Deposit
Pump Deposit
They pretty much function the same, but we offer different ones to help segregate the different types of deposits in your reporting.
Open Item Tag
It’s recommended to also add the OPEN Item Tag if you have varying prices for the deposit.
The Open Item Tag allows you to enter any price for the deposit in Arryved Service at the time it’s being ordered. Similar to purchasing a gift card.
Any Prices assigned to the Unit Sizes of the deposit item are ignored if the Open Tag is also applied.
Don’t forget to click Save at the top or bottom of the Inventory Item page when finished!
