Location Preferences, available in your Arryved Portal, allow you to customize the Arryved Product suite, per location, to meet your business needs. The Preferences are broken into sections. The ‘Tipping’ Location Preferences are used to customize the calculations and functionality of your tipping model. Use this guide to learn about each Preference in the Tipping section.
To access and edit the Location Preferences page, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin.
Location Preferences are set per location. From your Arryved Portal, you must toggle between your locations and adjust Preferences individually.
Some of your Location Preferences need to be enabled or disabled by Arryved personnel only. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our award-winning Support Team if you can’t find what you’re looking for in your Arryved Portal.
Head to your Arryved Portal and log in as a Super Admin.
From the left side navigation, click Location Settings.
Click Location Preferences.
Find the section titled ‘Tipping’. Use this guide to learn about each Preference in that section.
Click on the Question Mark Icon next to any Preference to learn more about it.
Under the Calculate Tips From: Location Preference, use the dropdown box to choose either Total or Subtotal. Tip percentages will be calculated off the tab’s Total or Subtotal based on what’s selected here.
Total = Subtotal + Tax + RSF
Subtotal = Sum of all the prices of each item ordered. Tax and RSF aren’t included.
Enable the Show tip amount on button Location Preference for the tip buttons on the Digital Signature screen in Arryved Service to display the exact dollar amount of the tip under the corresponding tip percentage.
If this Preference is disabled, only the tip percentages appear on the tip buttons.
To enable auto-gratuity, enter a percentage number in the box under the If the site can do auto gratuity on a check, set the percentage amount Location Preference.
This adds the ‘Tip Line’ / ‘Auto-grat’ button to the Running Tab Window. Tap ‘Tip Line’ and the button will change to say ‘Auto-grat’ and also apply the auto-gratuity to the tab calculated by the percentage entered in the Location Preference.

With the Tab Management Tool in your Arryved Portal, at the end of the night, you can close out all of the tabs that were left open with just one click! You can even apply a tip amount to each of those tabs at once.
If you’d like to apply a standard tip percentage to all of the tabs you’re going to close out at the end of the night, enter that percentage number in the box under the Default bulk close tip percentage Location Preference. That tip percentage will be the default percentage entered in the ‘Bulk Close Tabs’ section of the Tab Management Tool. The percentage can always be adjusted in the tool itself if you decide on another number for that day.
If nothing is entered in this Location Preference, you can still use the Bulk Close feature in the Tab Management Tool, you’ll just need to manually enter a tip percentage each time instead of one being auto-filled for you.
In the Tip Options Location Preference, enter the predetermined tip percentages you want to display on your tip buttons. Enter the percentage number and separate them with a semicolon. Be sure to add ‘OTHER’ to include the Custom tip button.
Tip buttons are available on the Digital Signature screen in Arryved Service and the closeout screens in OpenTab and your Arryved Online Store.
These tip buttons only appear in Venues that have Tips enabled and the Digital Signature Screen enabled under Venue Configuration.
You can also set your tip buttons differently per Venue. Contact Arryved Support to help you with this.
On the Digital Signature Screen in Arryved Service, you can change the default label that says ‘Tip’ to a custom message of your choice. Use the box under the Label used in place of “Tip” Location Preference to enter your custom message.
