ACH, or the Automated Clearing House network, is how money is sent electronically from one bank to another. Money routes from your guests’ bank accounts to your business account via ACH deposits on a regular basis.
Credit and Debit sales should reach your account two business days after the sales have been made. Weekends and holidays will delay the deposit time.
1. Sale made on Monday.
2. Sale was batched Tuesday morning around 3:00 AM local time.
3. Funds are released on Wednesday morning around 9:00 AM local time.
Thursday + Friday
Transactions that occur on Thursdays and Fridays are typically combined into one deposit that’s released on Mondays.
Saturday + Sunday
Every bank is different. Even though funds are released around 9:00 AM local time, your bank might not post that deposit until later in the day (and on some rare occasions, until the next day).
Your first deposit can occasionally be delayed by a day or two as the Merchant Processor and your Bank establish the connection.
Any bank holidays will delay the ACH Deposit by one business day. Mondays are the most common day for a bank holiday.
