Arryved Online Order Modality Overview

What Are Online Order Modalities?

The Arryved Online Order Modalities are the various ways a guest can receive their online order. When setting up your Arryved Online Store, you can choose to offer one, some, or all of the Modalities including Pickup, Delivery, Curbside, Ship It, or In Person. Read this guide for an explanation of all five Order Modalities

Prerequisites

  • If you’re setting up your Arryved Online Store now, begin with the Arryved Online Setup Guide and follow the steps in order. This is part of step 5 of the Setup Guide.  

  • You must create your Online Venues first. 

  • To set up and customize the Arryved Online Order Modalities you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Permissions:

    • ONLINE ORDERING SETTINGS

    • ALL ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

Limitations

  • If you don't see the Ship It Settings in your Arryved Portal and you wish to use Ship It, contact Arryved Support to activate it for you. 

  • Arryved can’t assist with any shipping logistics. 

  • The Shipping Fee and Delivery Fee are one set price each (of your choice). You can’t create variable fees depending on cart totals. 

  • Alcohol items can’t be shipped.

  • You cannot rename the Order Modalities nor create custom ones. 

How It Works

There are 5 Order Modalities you can offer in your Arryved Online Store:

  • Pickup 

  • Curbside

  • Delivery

  • Ship It

  • In Person

You can enable one, some, or all of these Modalities and customize them through your Online Store Settings,

  1. Log into your Arryved Portal.

  2. From the left side navigation, click Location Settings

  3. Click Online Store Settings.

Activate Your Desired Modalities 

At the top of the Online Store Settings page, you must add your online Venue(s) and assign the desired Order Modalities to them. 

Here’s what to consider: 

  • We recommend having one Venue for your ‘To-go Modalities’ (Pickup, Curbside, Delivery), a second Venue for In Person online ordering, and a third Venue for Ship It. See the image below for this example. 

    • Contact Arryved Support to activate the Ship It Modality for you, if you’d like to use it. The other Modalities are available to you by default. 

  • If you want all 5 Modalities to have their own menu, you’ll need to create 5 separate online Venues for each one. 

  • If any Modalities have the same menu offerings, they can live under the same Venue. 

  • The only other reason you may want to separate out the Modalities in different Venues is so the Modalities can have their own ORDER screen in Arryved Service where you can toggle to see the list of orders that came from that Venue alone when toggled to the Venue view. 

Customize Each Modality

On the Online Store Settings page, scroll down and see that each of the Modalities has its own customizable settings. Click on one to expand it. 

Pickup 

With the Pickup Modality, guests place orders through your Arryved Online Store then come into your location to pick up their orders and take them to-go. 

Curbside

With the Curbside Modality, guests place their order through your Arryved Online Store and come pick it up by parking in your designated curbside spot. Then, a staff member brings their order out to the car. 

Delivery

With the Delivery Modality, guests place orders through your Arryved Online Store and a staff member delivers them to the address received with the order. You have the option to create a Delivery Fee. 

Ship It

With the Ship It Modality, guests can make a purchase in your Arryved Online Store and have the items shipped directly to them. You have the option to create a Shipping Fee.

  • Pro Tip! Create a separate online Venue for this Modality so it can have its own menu. You might not want to ship all of the items available through the other Modalities.

In Person (Served)

The In Person Order Modality is for guests who want to shop your Online Store while they are physically on-premise at your location. They’ll need to access the store from their smartphone or laptop. 

  • You can create QR codes that send guests to your Arryved Online Store.

  • Or, you can send guests to your main website where your Arryved Online Store link is embedded. 

  • Since the folks ordering through this Modality are physically on-premise, you can probably offer a wider range of menu items such as draft beer that isn’t meant for the to-go Modalities. 

    • Pro tip! Create a separate online Venue for this Modality so it can have its own menu.

Modalities In Your Online Store

  1. Guests will arrive at your Online Store and first answer if they’re 21+.

  2. Then, they’ll choose which Modality they’d like to order through, by clicking on it. 

  3. From there, shoppers can browse the menu available for that Modality and complete their checkout.
