How To Test Your Printers

How To Test Your Printers

Testing Your Printers

So you’ve just set up your bar, kitchen, and receipt printers. Now let’s see if they print as intended! Follow the steps in this guide to send test prints to your printers.

Prerequisites

  • The Epson printer you’re testing is configured

  • The printer is added to the Merchant Peripherals page of your Arryved Portal.

  • The printer is loaded with paper, plugged in, and turned on.

  • To test your bar and kitchen printers, you must create at least one menu with food and beverage Inventory Items.

  • You need one of your POS devices with Arryved Service on it, and it must be on the same WiFi network that the printer was configured to.

Limitations

  • Printers won’t print if there’s no network connection.

How It Works

Step 1: Selecting Printers In Arryved Service

If you already have your Default Printer Settings configured in your Arryved Portal, you can skip this step and head to steps 2 and 3 to test your printers. If you haven’t done this yet or are unsure, follow these steps in Arryved Service to quickly set your printers to a POS device for testing.

  1. Grab a POS device, open Arryved Service, and log in.

  2. Tap STAFF from the top navigation bar.

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Under the Printers section, tap on one of the printer types and select the appropriate printer from the list of options.

    • Select a printer for all the printer types you want to test. Be sure to include, Bar, Kitchen, and Receipt at the very least.

  5. Tap Done

Remember that all of your POS devices typically honor the Default Printer Settings configured in your Arryved Portal. When you select printers in Arryved Service (from the steps above), that specific POS device now honors those settings instead. Tap Reset To Defaults in the Arryved Service Settings to revert to the default settings in Portal.

Step 2: Test Receipt Printers

  1. In Arryved Service, tap STAFF from the top navigation bar.

  2. Tap the Venue Closeout button.

  3. A test print should print to your receipt printer!

Step 3: Test Bar & Kitchen Printers

If you still need to create Inventory and Menus in your Arryved Portal, skip this step for now and come back to it later.

To send a test print to your bar and kitchen

  1. In Arryved Service, tap TAB from the top navigation bar.

  2. Tap New at the bottom of the TAB screen.

  3. Add at least 1 food and 1 beverage item to the order screen.

  4. Tap No User Set at the top and give this tab a name.

  5. Tap Done.

  6. Tap Send.

  7. Check the bar and kitchen printers for a printed ticket!

Troubleshooting

If there was an unsuccessful print, try the following tips:

  • Double check the correct IP address was entered in the Merchant Peripherals page with the printer.

  • Make sure the POS device is on the same WiFi network that the printer was configured to.

  • Is the printer plugged in, turned on, and loaded with paper?

If none of these tips worked, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (if you’re a newly launching Merchant) or Arryved Support.
