How To Enter Your Merchant Peripherals

How To Enter Your Merchant Peripherals

What Are Merchant Peripherals?

Your Peripherals are the hardware that your POS devices are sending orders to. This is either a printer or a KDS device. This article will show you how to log each of your Peripherals in the Merchant Peripherals page in your Arryved Portal.

Prerequisites

  • To create or edit Merchant Peripherals you need to be a Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Portal Permissions:

    • MANAGE HARDWARE

    • ALL ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

  • If entering printers, you’ll need the Static IP address of each one. When you plug in the printer and turn it on, it’ll spit out a sheet with the IP Address on it.

  • If you’re entering a Fresh KDS device, wait to be instructed by an Arryved member before entering it here to ensure the configuration is ready for you.

How It Works

Merchant Peripherals Page

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal.

  2. From the left side navigation, click Devices.

  3. Click Merchant Peripherals

  4. You’ll see a list of your current Peripherals. Your Implementation Manager may have entered some for you during the launch process. Click the Plus Sign to enter a new Peripheral.

  5. Follow the guidelines below to fill out the fields for the Peripheral.

  6. Click Save when finished.

  1. State

The Peripheral is either Active or Revoked. Leave it Active until otherwise told by an Arryved member.

  1. Type

Choose whether this is a printer or a KDS device. If you chose KDS, immediately choose FRESH_KDS from the Device Type field (5).

  1. Name

Give the printer a name that describes its station. If it’s a Fresh KDS device, as long as your integration is active, you’ll see a list of your configured KDS devices. Be sure to choose the correct one from the list.

  1. Device ID

If this Peripheral is a printer, the device iD is the Static IP address of the device. If it’s a Fresh KDS device, the device ID will auto-populate after you choose a device from the dropdown list in the Name field.

  1. Device Type

There are a handful of printer types to choose from, be sure to choose the correct one. Reach out to your Implementation Manager if you're unsure. If this is a KDS device, you’ve already chosen FRESH_KDS here.

  1. Fallback To

Fallback is a failsafe method. If a print job fails or devices that route orders to this Peripheral go into Offline Mode, the ticket will print (fallback) to another printer of choice.

  • Select a fallback printer. It can’t be a KDS device.

  • A KDS device, however, can have a fallback printer.

  1. Mirror To

When this Peripheral prints or displays a ticket, it can also print or display to another Peripheral of your choice. For example, you can have all your individual station Peripherals mirror to your expo printer or KDS screen.
