How To Create A Delivery Fee

How To Create A Delivery Fee

What Is A Delivery Fee?

If you’re offering Delivery through your Arryved Online Store, you have the option to create a Delivery Fee to help cover the cost of delivery for your business. The fee is created as an Inventory Item and automatically applies to all online orders that come through the Delivery Order Modality. Use this guide to learn how to create a Delivery Fee in your Arryved Portal.

Prerequisites

  • If you haven’t already, use the Delivery Modality Setup Guide to make Delivery available in your Arryved Online Store.

  • To create a Delivery Fee, you must be an Arryved Portal Super Admin or an Admin with one of the following Permissions:

    • INVENTORY

    • ALL-ACCESS

    • FULL ADMIN

Limitations

  • You can only create one Delivery Fee at one price.

  • The Delivery Fee applies to all the items on your Delivery menu. It can’t apply to certain items or certain cart totals. You can create a separate online Venue for Delivery so it has its own menu, separate from the other Arryved Online Order Modalities.

How It Works

New Item Type

We strongly encourage you to create a new Item Type for your Arryved Online Fees (Shipping Fee and Delivery Fee). This helps keep your reporting neat and tidy, and you’ll want a 0% Tax Type applied to it.

Create The Delivery Fee

The Delivery Fee is created as an Inventory Item,

  1. Head to your Arryved Portal

  2. From the left side navigation, click Inventory

  3. Click Inventory Folders

    • You may want to create a new folder for your Arryved Online Fees or miscellaneous items.

  4. Click on a Folder.

  5. Click New Item +

  6. Give it a Name and Short Form.

  7. In the ID field type 'deliveryfee'.

    • All one-word and lowercase letters. It must be written exactly that way. That’s how Arryved Online knows that this item is your Delivery Fee.

  8. In the Item Type and Tax Type field, select the new Item Type you created for your Arryved Online Fees or choose another relevant Item Type.

  9. Scroll down and click to expand the Costs section.

  10. Click + Add Cost.

  11. Select your ORDER Unit Size or something equivalent.

  12. Enter a Price, this will be the price of the Delivery Fee.

  13. Scroll to the top or bottom of the page and click Save

Once created, this fee applies to all orders made through the Delivery Order Modality in your Arryved Online Store.
