Arryved Service can accept multiple payment types to pay a single tab. Perhaps your guest wants part of their tab with cash or gift card, and the rest on their credit card. Or maybe they want to pay a certain amount with their corporate card and the rest on their personal card.
Whatever the case may be, partial payment makes it possible! This article shows you how to complete a partial payment in Arryved Service at the time of closeout.
Tip percentages could either be calculated off the partial tab amount or the total tab amount. This is based on a Location Preference.
If you’re an Arryved Portal Super Admin, you can change the Location Preference “For partial payments, always calculate tip % on tab amount”
If you leave the remaining tab open after completing a partial payment, you won’t be able to place another order on the tab.
Once a partial payment is made on a tab, the remaining tab can't be split or merged. However, Comps and Insider Offers can still be applied.
If the tab has a card on file, it can only be used once for a partial payment.
How It Works
You may be wondering, what’s the difference between splitting a tab and accepting a partial payment? Here’s the general rule of thumb,
You’ll split a tab if multiple guests on a single tab want to pay for their own items or if the payment can be split equally.
You’ll create partial payments if a guest wants to divide the check by a certain dollar amount. For example, exactly $20 in cash and the rest on a card.
Partial Payments happen through the Payment Options screen. Let’s get you there!
Log into Arryved Service.
From the TAB screen, Tap the Pay button and arrive at the Payment Options screen.
From the TAB screen in Arryved Service, tap New to begin a new order.
Add items to the order screen.
Tap the box in the top left corner that displays the total price of the order. This takes you to the Payment Options screen.
Now that you’re on the Payment Options screen, you can begin the partial payment.
Tap the Partial button.
From the prompt, enter the dollar amount to be paid with the first partial payment type.
You’ll see that amount appear in a box to the right of the Partial button.
Now, tap on any of the payment options from the screen, the payment will be for the partial amount you entered.
Complete the first closeout per usual.
When you get to the thank you screen, tap the hidden X in the top right corner.
It’ll ask you if you’d like to process another payment.
Tap Yes to return to the Payment Options screen or tap No to leave it open and return to the TAB screen.
You can enter another partial payment amount or pay the full remaining amount by simply selecting the next payment type.
If you tap the $5, $10, or $20 buttons, it’ll create a partial payment at that amount.
If you completed a partial payment, but the remainder of the tab is left open, you’ll see both the original tab amount and the remaining amount of the tab on the TAB screen.
You can’t add another order to this partial tab, you can only close it out when you’re ready or void the first payment(s) if necessary.
If you void a payment, it will cancel the payment and re-open the tab, (or the partial tab). You can void each partial payment individually.
