Self-sourced / Non-configured Printer Setup Guide

Self-sourced / Non-configured Printer Setup Guide

For Self-Sourced & Non-configured Printers

Did you purchase your own Epson printers outside of Arryved? Or, do you have a printer that isn’t yet configured? If so, use this guide to self-install and configure your printer. This is your starting guide. Each step links you to another guide where you’ll complete the instructions there, then return to this guide and move to the next step. Repeat the steps in this guide for each of your self-sourced or non-configured printers.

Prerequisites

  • Have your printers and paper rolls handy for setup.

  • You’ll need a computer with internet access to complete these steps. It’s best to use a desktop computer or laptop, please avoid using a mobile phone.

Limitations

  • If you’re sourcing your own Epson kitchen (impact) printer, it must be Ethernet wired. If you need a wireless (WiFi-connected) kitchen printer, please purchase it from the Arryved Hardware Catalog so we can properly support it throughout your POS lifetime. The good news is, that you’re free to source your own Epson receipt/bar (thermal) printers for wireless use!

  • The Arryved POS only supports Epson brand printers.

  • Our award-winning Support Team can best support hardware that’s purchased through our own catalog. If a printer issue were to arise, it may be difficult for our team to identify and resolve it, if sourced outside of Arryved.

Setup Guide

Steps To Follow

  1. Test your WiFi strength

  2. Install and configure the printer

  3. Add the printer to your Arryved Portal

  4. Test printer connection

Step 1: Test Your WiFi Strength

You may have completed this step already during your Arryved onboarding, but if you haven’t please use one of the guides below to test your WiFi strength on either a Mac computer or an Android device. A week WiFi signal may interfere with your printing, so we need to test it before setting up your printers.

When finished, email the results to your Implementation Manager

Step 2: Install And Configure The Printer

In this step, you’ll plug the printer in, load it with paper (and ink if needed), and configure it so it can connect to your POS network. Choose the guide you need below, complete the steps there, and return to this guide when finished.

Step 3: Add Printer To Your Arryved Portal

In your Arryved Portal, your printers or KDS devices are referred to as “Peripherals”. You need to enter each Peripheral into your Arryved Portal to make the connection with your Arryved POS.

Note: You may have completed this step using the guides in step 2 above, but if you haven’t, please complete this step now for each of your printers that have been configured.

Step 4: Test Your Printers

Alrighty! We are about done! Now it’s time to test your printers to make sure the setup worked. Use the guide below to learn how you can quickly connect your printers to Arrhyved Service and send a test print from your POS device.

If you’re having a hard time getting your wireless receipt (thermal) printer to connect, you may need a firmware update. Especially if the printer is an older version. Use the guide below to update it, then give it another test print when complete.
