If guests are ordering through Arryved Online or OpenTab, they aren’t able to enter a gift card as payment. Gift card payments can only be accepted through Arryved Service.
If a guest is entering a tip with a gift card payment, the total + tip can't exceed the remaining balance on the gift card.
Let’s say a guest has a $10 gift card and their tab is $8.50 before tip. The guest can only tip up to $1.50, otherwise, the payment will fail.
You can’t leave a gift card on file to open a tab.
Gift card sales or payment aren’t supported on a device that’s in Offline Mode.
The sale of a gift card is reported as a liability because you have accepted payment in exchange for a promise of goods at a later time.
When a gift card is used as payment, your gift card liabilities decrease.
Gift card sales don’t collect tax. Tax is collected on the items that are purchased with the gift card later.
Your Arryved Portal is where you’ll create and manage your gift cards.
Create a gift card Inventory Item so you can sell it in Arryved Service.
Use the Gift Card Tool to manually create, edit, or view a specific gift card.
Use Arryved’s gift card reporting.
Like any other item you’re offering for sale, a gift card is an Inventory Item that can be ordered in Arryved Service. Selling gift cards in your Arryved Online Store has a different setup process.
Some of Arryved’s Item Tags have superpowers. Adding the Gift Card Item Tag to an Inventory Item tells the system that the Inventory Item is a gift card! It allows you to enter the desired card balance at the time the gift card is being ordered in Arryved Service. It also treats the sale as a liability and makes sure your gift card sales and payments are reported properly.
Use the Gift Card Tool in your Arryved Portal to:
Manually load a new gift card (a physical gift card or just using a set of numbers).
Add or modify a card balance.
View a card’s history.
Create House Accounts.
Here are the reports in your Arryved Portal related to gift cards.
List of gift card sales in Arryved Service. Doesn’t include gift cards created by the Gift Card Tool in Portal.
Displays a list of all gift cards and their current balance with a summary line with the total gift card liability.
Shows total gift card sales and gift card payments for the days selected in the report.
Shows a list of actions made to gift cards or house accounts in the Gift Card Tool.
In Arryved Service, you can,
Sell gift cards.
Accept a gift card as payment.
View a gift card’s balance.
Remember the Gift Card Inventory Item you created in your Arryved Portal with the Gift Card Item Tag? Well, now you can sell that item to your guests in Arryved Service! When ordered, it’ll prompt you to enter a desired card balance and the price of the gift card becomes that value. When payment is accepted by the guest, the gift card loads with that balance.
On the Payment Options screen in Arryved Service, you can swipe a gift card through the card reader or manually enter the card number.
Oftentimes, a set of gift cards each begins with the same long string of numbers such as 000000. This is known as the prefix. You can set up gift card prefixes, so in the event that you need to manually enter a gift card number in Arryved Service, you can save time by tapping one button to enter the prefix.
On the STAFF Screen in Arryved Service, there is a Gift Card Query button. Tap it to swipe the card and view its balance. Or, tap the three vertical dots there to manually enter the card number.
In your Arryved Online Store, you can sell gift cards, but a guest can’t pay for their online order with a gift card. Gift cards are set up a little differently in your Arryved Online store compared to Arryved Service.
