The tDynamo is Arryved’s latest hardware that accepts tap, dip, swipe, and digital wallets all in one card reader! The tDynamo is exclusive with Arryved Pay, our new, end-to-end, payment solution with in-house payment processing. Read this guide for best practices on managing the reader’s battery life during service hours.
The tDynamo card reader is only available to merchants on Arryved Pay.
The tDynamo battery life lasts up to about 6-8 hours with regular use and up to 11 hours if sitting idle.
The card reader may have a hard time connecting to the POS when the battery level drops below 20%. Arryved Service will warn you when the reader reaches this level.
Follow these best practices to ensure your tDynamo card readers have enough battery life during your hours of operation.
Leave the card reader charging every night so the batteries are always at 100% at the start of each day.
Use the USB-C cord to charge nightly rather than the charging stand. The cord provides optimal charge.
For POS devices that live on the bar or an order counter, keep the reader in its standalone dock, plugged in and charging at all times.
For readers that need to move about freely on the service floor, when the battery gets low, you can swap them with the fully-charged readers that live at the bar or counter.
Be sure to keep charging cables handy at the bar and server stations so staff can easily access them.
We recommend using a modern block piece to connect the USB-C cord for optimal charging. An older USB-C block may not sufficiently charge.
Reduce the number of order stations that would need to rotate readers.
Power off readers when not in use or during slower periods.
If the time permits, re-charge your readers in between your AM and PM shifts.
You may want to purchase a few extra readers to swap out during service especially if many of your readers will be moving about freely all day.
OpenTab is Arryved’s mobile guest-ordering solution. With OpenTab, guests can start a tab, place orders, and close out right from their smartphones using QR codes. Adopting OpenTab in your service model will help reduce the usage of card readers and help save you some battery life! Check out our OpenTab resources below.
